Visit from Midhurst & Chichester.

Today we had 2 teams from Chichester and 1 from Midhurst visit us at Hove Rec. We spent the first hour training and the second playing matches. Hove Tornadoes won 2 and drew 1. Hove Hurricanes played and lost 3. Both teams showed some moments of brilliance and both teams have to work on applying similar basic skills - staying in position on the pitch, driving over the ball and tackling. Photos to follow. Next week we are at home for training.

Training back at Hove?

We were advised earlier in the week that all training at Hove should be avoided for the next two weeks due to the very poor state of the pitches. On this basis we had planned NOT to run a training session back at Hove for those not going to the Lewes Tournament.

However, on talking with Chris Betts last night, he will be training with his U10's on Sunday at Hove (usual time), and has said that any of our U9's are welcome to join him.

Following a coaches training session at the club last night - I suspect that the theme for Chris's session will be "RUCKING", so prepare to be muddy!!

No Training this week

Sadly there will be no training tomorrow evening (Wednesday 29 November) as the pitches are waterlogged and all training has been called off by the club.

This Sunday is the Lewes tournament and Neale, Francois and I have a selection meeting tomorrow. We’ll email you on Thursday to let you know who is in the tournament team.

Wasps trip 25th of November

Information relating to the Wasps trip this Sunday is attached including driving directions for those travelling by car.

For those travelling on the coach, we will be departing Shirley Drive at 7.45am prompt on Sunday morning, and so please arrive with plenty of time to get onto the coach in time for this departure time. We cannot leave late or we will miss the training session.

As it stands - there are a total of 75 of us going up on Sunday, with 56 booked on the coach - the remainder are driving up or meeting up with us there.HighWycombe
The coach is a 70 seater - and so there is plenty of room if any of you drivers change your mind and want to let the coach take the strain!

I have handed out all the tickets now - apart from one or two that I have spoken too about extras - which I will hand out on Wednesday. We have an allocated block of seating, and so please do not worry if your seats are not next to each other or your kids, we all have seats, and so we can sort the seating out on arrival.

I still have available 2 adult tickets and one child participant ticket - please contact me ASAP if you are interested in any of these.

We have the coach for the full day, and so it should be possible to leave things on the coach - I am checking this with the coach company and will let you know if any different.

In terms of clothes for the kids, it has been suggested that they save their Hove shirts for the team photo on the pitch at Wasps as this will look much better, so could you please put the kids in an alternative sutable top for training. The kids will need a change of clothes anyway - as depending upon the weather they might get wet / muddy (the weekend is currently forecast as Sunny - but a long way off yet!!)

Please bring plenty of snacks and drinks - although I am sure that there will be opportunity to get snacks both at the training site and also at the ground.

Please note that we are not allowed to take or consume alcohol on the coach.

Please also take a note of my mobile phone number 07921 880308 - please do not hesitate to ring me if you have any questions between now and then!

I will be at training on Wednesday - so any of you attending can alternatively ask me then.
