Hi everyone
Just to remind you that it is training at Hove this Sunday - if there is any change to that because of weather conditions - I will text/phone you!
Also to remind you that number for WASPS Day will be confirmed on Sunday and money will be needed. It may be possible to book extra seats after Sunday but I can't guarantee it.
Thanks

Sunday 22 March - Wasps vs Bristol
We are organising another Wasps day like the one last year (and the year before that!)!!
Sunday 22nd March, Wasps vs Bristol in the Guinness Premiership.
Then, coach to the ground where we watch the game against Bristol from the stand, before heading back to Hove after the match - arriving back approx 7.15pm.
All those that have attended previously have agreed that these Match Day coaching sessions provide a fantastic day for both kids and adults alike.
We need to give numbers to Wasps 6 weeks prior - so need to know by next week - and, preferably, by this Sunday.
Prices are as follows;
£20 per participant child - including training and ticket and a Certificate and London Wasps Gift (this year I believe it will be the 08/09 Beanie Hat - but don't hold me to that!)
£20 per adult.
£10 per concession (OAP, Students & U18's).
Note - the prices for kids have not gone up for the last 2 years and the adult price has only gone up by £1 - excellent value for money!
I will need a deposit of £10 per child/adult and £5 per concession.
In addition to the participating child, I need to know how many adult tickets you require, and how many concessions, together with how many seats on the coach you require. If you intend to drive instead, can you confirm this too.
PLEASE EMAIL ME YOUR REQUIREMENTS ASAP - I WILL OF COURSE ALSO HAVE MY CLIP BOARD WITH ME ON SUNDAY!!

This is obviously destined not to happen. Received the following from Worthing this morning
"Unfortunately I have to inform you that the decision has been made to cancel the curtain raiser for this weekends match. With the current state of the pitches and the forecast for more rain this week, the playing committee have requested that the curtain raiser does not take place."
Many thanks to everyone who made themselves available for the game.
See you Sunday - we are at home to Pulborough.

HAPPY NEW YEAR - 4 & 10 January 2009
Happy New Year Everyone!
Just a gentle reminder that there is training at Hove this Sunday 4th January.
In addition we have been asked by Worthing RFC to provide a curtain raiser on Saturday 10th January for their first team who are playing London Scottish at Worthing, It would be on the first team pitch prior to the main game. It would be one 7 min each way game and we would then have the opportunity of forming a tunnel for the first team to run through. Worthing would then provide some light refreshments and we would then be free to go or watch the main match. This would all take place at around 1.30p.m, ie. we would need to be there by approx 1pm for warm up etc.
Please can everyone let me know, if they have not already done so, if they are available for both Sunday 4 and Saturday 10th January.
Many thanks

Sunday 21 December - Training and Minis Xmas Party
Hi Everyone
Just to confirm there will be training this Sunday at Hove; there is NO rugby on Sunday 28 December and we will begin the new year with training at Hove on Sunday 4 January. The Midhurst and East Grinstead matches are being re-scheduled and I will give you more news of those in the New Year.
In the meantime please find below a message from the mini's Chairman re the Christmas Party - please note the change in time!
The mini's Christmas party will be held this Sunday 16:30 - 18:30 at the club house and is free. For those of you new to the club this is one of the most important fixtures of the season.
For the children we offer a full Christmas Creche facility hosted by Father Christmas himself along with a disco, various ridiculous games and more sweets than you can shake a stick at. Undoubtedly, this is a prime opportunity to get our children exhausted and thoroughly into the festive swing. It has always been a resounding success and we have always managed to contain the excitement......just. Fancy dress is always highly amusing and we leave this down to your discretion.....!!
For the parents we offer the other side of the club where you are obliged to frequent our well stocked bar and make merry. This is a great opportunity to spend some time with the other parents away from the cold touchlines that have been haunting us so far this season. Again, you can't go wrong - just turn up, drop your child into the disco and order a festive round what could be a better way to see in Christmas??
All we need from you, parents, is to be your own child's Father Christmas. What does this mean? Well.....we need you to bring a small present, max. £5.00, to give to your child via the real Father Christmas. This is absolutely the best way forward and means your child will receive something that they want rather than something plastic we've guessed at. We'll run all the entertainment but you bring a small gift. The distribution of the gifts will be done by age group so on arrival please hand in to one of Santa's helpers. Should you forget, we will have bought in some spares.....
All that remains is to see you there enjoying Christmas and supporting your club.
See everyone on Sunday and for those who won't be there MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR from all the Coaches.

Sunday 7 December - Lewes Festival (As) and Training at Hove
Hi everyone
Just to confirm that we are sending an A squad to the Lewes Festival this Sunday, 7 December and they are listed below.
FOR EVERYONE ELSE THERE WILL BE TRAINING AT HOVE AT 10.00AM AS USUAL.
Forwards:
James Cull
James Hadfield
Mikey Howell
Jacob Knight
Aran Mcdonald
Freddie Packham
Backs:
Daniel Adu
Zac Downey
Freddie Garth
Luke Griffiths
George Karous
Max Karous
George Oliver
Sam Pfeiffer
Davis West
Please arrange to arrive by 09.30 and remember that parking at Lewes is always tricky so may want to car share. The club have asked that visitors DO NOT PARK in Cranedown opposite as this annoys local residents. Alternative parking can be found in Southdown Club Car park in cockshut Road (access to club via tunnel under A27) - if anyone needs a map please let me know.
The Under 11 pitch is in the far right hand corner from the club house and game duration will be 7 minutes each way. Each team is scheduled to play 4 games.
"The Tournament will be played by way of a straight league play-off. Teams will be awarded 3 points to win and 2 points for a draw. If at the conclusion of all games two teams are drawn on points, then a decision will be made based on the most tries scored, if there is still a draw then least tries conceded will denote the winner. If there is still a draw then the result will be decided by the toss of a coin. Weather and unforeseen events permitting the presentation of wards will be held by the Club House at approx 13.50hrs.
Good luck for the Festival and, as always, if anyone cannot make either Lewes or Training please let me know in good time.

Sunday 30 November - Triangular Match at Crawley
Hi
As you know from the fixtures booklet, the plan for this Sunday was A's away to Hastings and B's away to Crawley. However, there was some confusion as to whether Hove minis were visiting Hastings or vice versa. It has therefore been arranged for ALL minis (except U9's I believe) to go to Crawley for triangular matches with Hove, Hastings and Crawley.
Please therefore meet at Crawley:
http://www.crawleyrfc.co.uk/contact_directions.html
for a 10.00am start.
Bearing in mind last week's weather conditions (by the way congratulations to all players and spectators who managed to withstand the torrential icy rain!) - please ensure that players have not only tracksuits tops and bottoms but also wet weather gear. Note to self "remember wet weather trousers next time".
As ever, please let me know if you are unable to attend.
See you Sunday
